Minor in Writing: The Gateway

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It’s easy. Just click “Edit Text” or double click me and you can start adding your own content and make changes to the font. Feel free to drag and drop me anywhere you like on your page. I’m a great place for you to tell a story and let your users know a little more about you.

For the "Why I Write" assignment, us Minors were asked, why are you here? It was an exercise in self-reflection, something we were asked to do more than several times this semester. Here you'll find out why I write through the words of a 5th grader. Here, you'll find all artifacts of the process, from sketch draft to revision with feedback.

Here is where the class began to "pick up," despite the fluid deadlines. In this page, I'll attempt to take you from a research paper about American identity to a poem about baseball and September 11, 2001. It was my first attempt at poetry, so please bear with me.

The end product of the re-purposing is re-mediating. Put yourself behind home plate on any given September 11th in Yankee Stadium, old or new. This video — my first attempt at multimedia ever I  swear — is being played on the video board in center field. It should be followed by that same U-S-A chant that echoed more than a decade ago. This one's for you, New York.
